We are working on a comprehensive Index that will form a comprehensive multi-disciplinary repository covering the world's most recently published scientific work and technical reviews on Africa.
It will enable users to easily find relevant information quickly and in one place. The data is organised, consistent and controlled by common but specific terminologies.
There will be an aspect of intellectual analysis of documents to identify concepts represented in the publication and then allocating the extracted text with descriptors for ease of retrieval.
The data recorded is; author, date of publication, where published. If a news article, the headline or title and the section of newspaper where published is included. We have also included information on where, how and when some content listed might appear.
This data has been arranged into a Content Management System (CMS) which assist the Administrator with creation, modification, publication and removal of information resources (metadata) quickly and efficiently.
Conservation and preservation
According to Prince Charles, " It should be our duty to ensure that we don't lose any species if we can possibly help it." True to his word, he has made an effort to protect species from extinction. He is involved in saving the albatross from extinction while for more than 20 years, he has converted his farm into an organic farm.
Prof. Wangari Mathai, the first ever African woman Nobel Prize winner has ,over the years championed conservation of trees. And now she believes that the world can plant a billion trees which would greatly help by acting as carbon sinks, hence reduce global warming.
We know that these are not the only people supporting their utterances with practical solutions, we believe there are many people out there with wonderful conservation stories. They are waiting to be discovered. They are yearning or shunning for publicity. We believe that publication of success stories help inspire others to replicate or create their own successful projects.
If you think you know someone who is doing something really special about our world, then please contact us here.
