Interest in the natural world is immense. Environmental education is always an exciting subject at the early ages. At tender age we were al told how our behaviors could potentially cause irreversible damage to the natural world. This teaching made most of us paranoid about conservation. Suddenly we wanted to conserve everything. Many turn vegetarian in order to save animals from human cruelty. But then the embers that fed this fire in us diminished with age. But some times this desire to protect seem to wane as we get older mainly due to adopting new hobbies such as playing our Playstation and biking. There is still a chance that we can rekindle our interest in nature not only can we make careers out of it but, we will help heal the world at the same time.

This website has something for everybody-experts and even those who think that they are mere enthusiasts. There are lists of books and curriculum for those interest in exciting hobbies such as Nature Trail to those interested in discovering new species.

Some general comments on the status of Education in the world

The opportunity to attend school is a basic human right and should be made available to all children (UNESCO: 2000). Minorities and poor people continue to get a poor deal out of the segregating education systems. Political segregation such as that applied during the colonial era, most recently in history the South Africa and the USA separate but equal racial schools are human failures based on misguided principles.

Unfortunately with the widening gap between rich and poor, the scenario is getting worse now more than ever due to the worsening economic differences. Poor countries con not afford free education for the masses, so their populations remain less educated. The rich countries can afford to spend a smaller percentage of their higher gross domestic product (GDP) to provide quality education to the masses.

Good primary education is important in shaping careers and increases chances for better employment. Better employment means better salaries hence higher incomes. Access to education remains the most critical issue. It is more worrying in places such as central Asia and Africa where enrollment is as low. In Arab states for instance more than 40% of the population of secondary school age bracket (12-18) does not attend school.

In some regions of the world, lack of enough qualified teachers, enough teaching facilities, and enough schools means there are more children who want to go to school but they can not. Those manage to attend often do not get quality education because the teacher-pupil ratio is higher and so there is no personalized help from teachers.

Health, Economy, Education and Human rights

A strong economy support and improve the health of its population. A strong economy is a product of hard work in wealth generation. Good education feeds the wealth creation and improved health. For workers to be productive and for students to succeed, there must be favourable environment. This brings to the fore the significance of social aspects such as the respect for basic human rights. This inexplicable tangle of relationship is the key to the elusive concept of development.

Disease, life style including alcohol and tobacco are some of the factors ebbing and chipping away the success gained by good education and stable economy. These pages highlight specific case studies.
